The Writer’s Wheel 8/23/2020: Time to Do Things

Loleta Abi

Lately, I’ve needed more time to handle things. The time simply isn’t there. I’ve been running the kids to work and other places. I need to get them to the license bureau soon to get those temps and begin training. Of course, I know the time’s turning swiftly on that too as the weather changes. I want them to be as comfortable as possible with what they’re doing. I also hope my nerves hold out, lol.

If all things go well, soon my daughter’s boyfriend will be driving her on the days he works. She’ll ride with me and my son on the other days. Then there’s the shuffle of days. Some days, she works. Some days, he works. They do share some days but not always. They do work the same time, thankfully, so that helps tremendously.

I’ve ended up with more time on my hands the days they work but—I’ve had internet outages. We’ve had two in the last couple of weeks over the whole area. It’s taken them days to get it back on sometimes too. Then, I’ve had problems with my office, computer, and my mouse. Had to find an old one to work with the monitor. Outlook has been giving me the whack-around as well.

I’m finally able to catch up with a couple posts tonight and work on my guest blogs a little as well. Hopefully, edits get done as well. Not sure about reading and link work. One step at a time. When I think of all that needs done, it’s overwhelming but when I break them into pieces, they’re more manageable. That’s how to make headway on things. A little at a time.

I’ll get used to this new routine eventually and by then, it’ll probably change again. Life is a constant rotation. So how do you handle your new reality? Have you gotten back to writing? Or decided on a career change? What’s new for you? Have a great week, take care, and God bless!
