Learning in the Midst of Crisis Traci Kenworth Do you consider yourself a Master of your craft? That there’s no more for you to learn? The truth is, even if you’ve done something for forty years, you can still learn something new. There are always new inventions. Or somebody discovering a short cut. Life spins around all the time and new things come into being. Even with Writing. Writers figure out how to do things simpler and more-efficient than they’ve ever done before. It’s part of learning. That’s why it’s important to study new avenues. You never know when you’ll discover something that makes it easier on you. If all you ever do is the same, you may make headway but it’ll take you longer than the new ways. It’s like those who wrote with pen and paper. Along came the typewriter. Some didn’t want to learn how to type. Along came the word processor. What I started out with. Next, came the computer. Now, there’s the IPad. You’re phone. And on and on. That’s not that some people don’t still use pen and paper. Or pencils. Every writer has a different method. But every now and then, we should poke into other writer’s methods if they offer.
