Video Game Curiosities 4/6/2020 Traci Kenworth I remember when ATARI first came out. It had us kids transfixed for months on end. My family didn’t have one but one of my friend’s did and we spent many a day cloistered in his small apartment playing Pac-Man ads nauseum. Those little ghosts drove us crazy but then Pac-Man would sometimes save the day and kept us coming back for more. Then they were the Arcade games as well. A lot of times we spent time in the pizza shop for those instead of the food, lol. Along Came Playstation. My next run in with video games came along in the 90s with Playstation. FFVII had just hit America’s shores and was the game to have. I loved the storylines that showed me world’s I’d only dreamed of coming to life. I learned about different creatures, weapons, scenarios. I learned how a hero might do everything right and still fail the day. I couldn’t imagine it till a certain character’s death. Soon, they’ll be releasing FFVII as a remastered edition. I envy the kids that’ll play it for the first time. To learn its secrets and its tragedies. Next up was FFVIII and Squall was every bit as impressive as Cloud had been. And that card game! A killer for sure. Y
