Maybe if we could see ourselves as more alike than different, we’d all be better off. I hope you work somewhere where everyone’s pleasant and above the cut but if you don’t, don’t despair. There’s always retirement to look forward to. The Walk Down the Aisles. Remember your first day? The walk down the aisles past other cubicles, every eye on you? Some smiled. Some gritted their teeth. You could already tell who’d be friends and who’d be enemies by the time you got to your desk. You shook it off and tried to get down to business. This was your time to impress! The Boss Who Assumes You Know Less than Nothing. It’s nice to see that look of displeasure change to something akin to respect when you say that yes, you know what they’re referring to. Program or task wise. When you take a load off their shoulders, they’re more cordial and agreeable to let you into their circle. Of course, you can’t get too close. That wouldn’t be appropriate.
