Sweet & Sour “Bat” Wings Traci Kenworth (adapted from Sprinkles and Sprouts) These are an awesome addition to any Halloween party. I suggest using tongs. I didn’t have a problem with stains under nails because of this. I did have a bit of a stain in the bowl I used and the pan used for frying (I prefer mine fried instead of baked, baked is healthier though if you wish to go that way.) These do not stain your fingers once cooked. Ingredients: ¾ c. pineapple juice 2 T. brown sugar ¼ c. tomato sauce 2 T. Worcestershire sauce 1 T. hot sauce (optional) 1 t. black food coloring 3 lbs. wings (I mistakenly got the drumettes and wing section divided but put together, they still look like a bat) ¼ c. honey 2 T. apple cider vinegar Combine the pineapple juice, brown sugar, tomato sauce, W. sauce, and black food coloring in bowl. Add chicken and turn to coat with tongs. Marinate 6-24 hrs. When oil hot, place a few wings at a time in. Cook about 10-15 mins. each side. Or bake 30 mins. in a single layer on parchment paper. Combine honey and vinegar. Brush wings with and return to oven ten mins. if baking. I didn’t put them back in the fryer. Just served as they were cooked.
